Our origin story is pretty simple!
Real estate acquisition in East Africa is burdened by fragmented land systems, opaque documentation, bureaucratic inefficiencies, and information asymmetry. Legal complexity and administrative bottlenecks create high transaction costs and expose buyers to fraud and uncertainty. Having faced these systemic barriers firsthand, our founder envisioned a fundamentally better infrastructure for property acquisition — one built on transparency, verification, and accessibility.
A year later, Saro was born; to facilitate the process of real estate acquisition and disposition in East Africa.
We grew out of a confluence of different factors:
The existing and almost insurmountable legal and industry language that makes understanding the process of buying property difficult and also fosters a culture of gate keeping;
The gate keeping in the industry that makes the process costly such that one inevitably requires a middle man to engage in the process of real estate acquisition;
The absence of a platform to identify opportunities for investment. As it stands, one requires access to a realtor or a law association to engage in the process;
And lastly, the limited online presence of real estate firms, which makes real estate acquisition dependent on informal networks.
Out of these factors, Saro was founded. We are the only online platform and app for investing in real estate in East Africa. With our proprietary verification system that validates buyers and sellers, coupled with our resource hub that demystifies while democratizing the real estate acquisition process, as well as our cloud-based integrated platform that connects buyers to sellers, Saro is the most trusted platform for real estate acquisition and disposition in East Africa.
Our goal is to make the process of real estate acquisition seamless and easy!
